At the Un-National Monument Along the Canadian Border
I like this poem about the "un-national border" because it makes you think about what the poem really is about. There are some lines of rhyme in this poem, and even though it is short, it keeps my interest. Monuments and museums are some of my favorite things, and the title of this poem is what caught my eye at first. I like that with this poem you can think of all of the many places that this "un-national monument" may be at.

Just thought I would mention that this famous poem by William Stafford is familiar to me because I have heard him read the poem himself! He visited my highschool, in Portland, Oregon, and read the poem to us. Nice man. I know his soon, Kim Stafford, also.
This poem is so beautiful in a time where borders can much too often symbolize a very negative feeling between the two lands (or groups of people) that it separates. Thanks for sharing it! And I agree, the site does have a really great variety of poems.
